BRIEF: ALONG SIDE THE PHILLY WATER DEPARTMENT, LEAD A CLASS OF STUDENTS IN THE DESIGN AND BUILD OF A 'SMART RAINWATER COLLECTOR.'

The Building Heroes and The Philadelphia Water Department partnered up to design a rain water collector. We focused the design on the needs of a Philly area high school. The rain water collector is an object that, when paired with itself, can create an outdoor hangout space complete with solar powered phone charging, places to sit and rest, and of course water!

The SLA @ Beeber students helped come up with needs they run into at school.

Quick concept sketches around possible solutions/forms the rain water collector could take; keeping in mind that the students would have to prototype and build this. Most have never used power tools.
